Discussing Doctor of Philosophy Päivi Lipponen & visual artist Olli Piippo.

Warmly welcome to Helsinki Contemporary on Tuesday 22 May at 5 pm.

Päivi and Paavo Lipponen Fund's Art Collection makes important, long-lasting efforts to encourage artists in the early stage of their career. The collection accrues of the works of promising young artists - many of them have become prominent actors in the field of visual art later on. One of the artists represented in the collection is Olli Piippo, who lives and works in Berlin and Helsinki. His 'Shalom' painting was acquired from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts' graduate exhibition in 2010.

Now in Piipo's first solo exhibition at the Gallery, Päivi Lipponen talks about the collection and discusses with Olli Piipo the importance of public collections for young artists, artist life in Berlin and growth as an artist. The discussion is held in Finnish.
