Tuuli Kerätär explores in her work the act of painting itself. For her, painting is a way of deciphering and organizing the fragmented information that surrounds us. Kerätär trusts in the intuitive act itself – memories or feelings of places and moments arise in the process. A strong, inherent sense of space is in the core of Kerätär’s work. Through the architectonic elements and energetic, vivid colours, her paintings exist at the same time very much in the present while also creating a timeless feel, escaping of tight definitions.
