The Ars Fennica 2023 exhibition opens at Kiasma on Friday, September 8, and continues until January 28, 2024. This exhibition, organized in cooperation by Kiasma and the Henna and Pertti Niemistö Art Foundation – ARS FENNICA sr., presents the nominees for Finland's most prestigious visual arts award: Henni Alftan (Finland), Tuomas A. Laitinen (Finland), Lap-See Lam (Sweden), Camille Norment (Norway), and Emilija Škarnulytė (Lithuania).
Artist Tuomas A. Laitinen works with video installations, sound, glass as well as chemical and microbial processes. He is interested in ecological issues, the formation of proposals for knowledge, and porous systems.
The Henna and Pertti Niemistö Art Foundation – ARS FENNICA sr, established in 1990, awards Finland's most prestigious visual arts prize of 50,000 euros every other year in recognition of distinctive artistic output of high merit.
