Pekka Jylhä: Blue pier, 2016. Photo: Ilpo Vainionpää.

Pekka Jylhä has designed two sculptures with a Tom of Finland motive, based on Touko Laaksonen a.k.a. Tom of Finland’s drawings.  Scale models of the sculptures Blue Pier and Thirst will be displayed at Kunsthalle Helsinki in connection with the exhibition Tom of Finland: The Pleasure of Play. The artworks are plastic drawings derived from Tom's drawings using 3D technology, showing mostly Tom's hand-drawn lines. One of the sculptures will be implemented in real size and a permanent location is under negotiation. The Tom of Finland Foundation has granted permission to use the pictures and supportes the project.

The exhibition is open 7.5.–7.8.2016.
