Sanna Kannisto is one of the most noted contemporary Finnish photographic artists. Kannisto's photography is distinctive for her unusual technique of constructing field studios in natural settings. Her art engages in commentary with the history of portraiture, the still life genre, and traditions of scientific representation. Her lates exhibition, Gestures, reflects the artist’s interest in the relationships between birds and their means of communication.
Iida Turpeinen is an author and literary researcher from Helsinki, Finland. Her debut novel Elolliset won the Helsingin Sanomat prize for literary debuts in Finland. Elolliset has attracted widespread international interest immediately after its publication and the rights have been sold to 22 language territories.
