Roland Persson's solo exhibition Trouble Will Find Me opens in June at Rejmyre Art Lab. The exhibition will be on view June 6th–November 1st, 2026, in Konsthallen Engelska Magasinet in Rejmyre, Sweden.
Roland Persson’s work moves between inner and outer, between poetry and logic. Through his silicone castings, he invites us into a reality that doesn’t quite add up, allowing us to notice things we might not otherwise have seen. In the shift between original and copy, a physical world and a personal mythology begin to emerge: an attempt to understand the world — as if that were possible.
Roland Persson (b. 1963, Hudiksvall, Sweden) is one of Sweden’s leading sculptors, with numerous solo exhibitions in Sweden and internationally, as well as more than fifty public commissions. He often works in aluminum and bronze, but large scale silicone sculptures have become his signature. Using molds made from real-life objects and mixing silicone with pigments to create painterly effects, Persson achieves exceptionally realistic sculptures through his masterful handling of the material. His work is represented in collections including the Gothenburg Museum of Art, Kiasma and Amos Rex. Recent exhibitions include the Liverpool Biennial, Färgfabriken, and Waldemarsudde. He is this year’s recipient of the Nordic region’s most prestigious art award: Ars Fennica.
