Hans Rosenström nominated for Ars Fennica 2015

Hans Rosentröm is nominated for the 2015 Ars Fennica Award. The other nominees are Laura Könönen, Outi Pieski, Mika Taanila and the duo Pink Twins, Vesa Vehviläinen and Juha Vehviläinen.
Ars Fennica is an annual art award assigned to an artist in recognition of distinctive artistic output of high merit. The internationally respected, biggest Finnish prize for visual art consists of a monetary prize of 40 000 € and an exhibition at Hämeenlinna Art Museum during the winter 2014-2015. The winner is this time chosen by curator and museum director Charles Esche during the Spring 2015. The prize is distributed by the Henna and Pertti Niemistö Ars Fennica Art Foundation.
Hans Rosenström works with installations that deal with the viewer’s psychological and physical relationship with a specific moment or space. The emphasis is on the presence of the viewer, the work is not fulfilled until it’s experienced. Rosenström’s first exhibition at Helsinki Contemporary, Divisions – And Other Possibilities, was seen in June 2014. His works are currently on display at Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan, USA and at Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art in Turku, Finland.
