Emma Ainala takes part in the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition, taking place in Kunsthall Charlottenborg in Copenhagen between 2 February – 10 March. Held annually at Charlottenborg since 1857, the Spring Exhibition is a major showcase of new contemporary art by prominent artists from the Nordic countries. Over the years, the exhibition has presented works by great internationally renowned artists such as Alvar Aalto, Per Kirkeby, Olafur Eliasson, Superflex and many others.

An international jury selects participating artists, among which five will be nominated as candidates for The Solo Award. With the Solo Award follows an invitation to exhibit at the following Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition. In 2018, the jury consists of Klara Kristalova (artist, CZ/SE), Alexander Tovborg (artist, DK) Anders Ruhwald (artist, DK/US), Christina Capetillo (architect, DK), and Marie Nipper (curator, DK).
