Hanna Hyy

As a painter, Hanna Hyy is interested in empathy and, through it, both inter-human and inter-species, individual and structural power relations fascinate her. In addition, her thinking is influenced by an interest in the interconnection between imagination and superstition. In Hyy’s paintings, a personal, internal experience often manifests itself through a work built by observational painting.

Hanna Hyy (b. 1990, Helsinki) lives and works in Savonlinna. After graduating from the department of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki in 2019, Hyy has actively participated in solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. In 2020, Hyy was invited to participate in the prestigious Charlottenborrg Spring Exhibition in Denmark. Hyy’s next solo exhibition will be seen at TM Gallery in 2022.
